The Danger of Loving is that You Learn to Live in Truth [micropoems]

I’ve seen monuments built to strength
Crumble and fall
Bring men to their knees
In anger of the pain
I know it all too well
For even the soundest of structures
Cannot emulate the courage
Of a beating heart.

It’s okay to stand up, darling
The Phoenix is no myth
But what becomes of a person
When they learn the vividness
Of living with an open heart.

(But I can’t promise I’ll be there)
You thought the world
Of me | Unready for us |
It will change someday,

Maybe. Will you look back
When you realize it’s you who
Most fears this | us | yourself?
